at the heart of the Livradois-Forez Nature Park, in the Puy de Dome department. At 850 meters above sea level, the air is clear and fresh. Winters are crisp and xmas-card like, and summers are hot but with cool nights.
Just 5-10 minutes walk in any direction will find you in idyllic tracts of dense forests, criss-crossed by walking tracks, ideal for relaxation, searching for woodland strawberries or wild mushrooms or simply for healthy
exercise.
Its a perfect environment for bringing up children, and for outdoor activities such as rambling, cycling or horseriding. There
are many nearby villages to visit, several with historic 11th to 13th century churches.
The weekly markets in local towns offer an opportunity to enjoy shopping for fresh locally produced food and a chance to sample some of the wonderful cheeses for which the area is renowned.
